A software for CII engineers has been launched on the RED OS

Russian software manufacturers RED SOFT and TESIS have confirmed compatibility of RED OS operating system and FlowVision 3.13 software suite for interdisciplinary modeling. The testing was performed for the purpose of information technology import substitution program implementation at the critical information infrastructure (CII) facilities.

FlowVision is used by engineers in shipbuilding, nuclear power engineering, aircraft engineering and cosmonautics. It is a Russian integrated solution for designers, engineers and technologists for modeling three-dimensional fluid and gas flows, heat transfer, combustion and chemical reactions. FlowVision allows to solve interdisciplinary problems and efficiently use the computing resources of workstations and supercomputers. FlowVision is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases (No. 2504).

RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations which provides a universal environment for the use of application software. The product is certified by FSTEC of Russia (No. 4060 dated January 12, 2019), which confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases (No. 3751).

"Currently, employees of federal and regional executive authorities in more than 50 regions of the country work on RED OS. The operating system is actively used by state corporations, in particular, at CII facilities. It is popular due to high security standards, ease of use, as well as a developed ecosystem that provides an environment for addressing a variety of tasks. FlowVision is another import-independent tool available in RED OS, which will allow CII engineers to do their work smoothly and with high quality", - Rustam Rustamov, deputy RED SOFT CEO, commented.

"In the FlowVision 3.13 release, we completely redesigned the pre-processor so that all modules work natively in Linux without using third-party software, such as Wine. Since FlowVision is often used at CII facilities for design and virtual debugging of products, we had to make sure of compatibility with popular domestic operating systems. One of our first tests was held jointly with RED SOFT specialists and we confirmed compatibility of the new version of FlowVision 3.13 with RED OS. Now Russian engineers have access to a completely domestic environment for modeling and engineering calculations", - Sergey Kursakov, TESIS CEO, commented.
