RED SOFT and ABBYY confirmed their products compatibility

ABBYY and RED SOFT conducted product compatibility tests within the framework of a technological cooperation agreement. The test results confirmed the correct functioning of the ABBYY FineReader Engine technology product under the RED OS operating system (produced by RED SOFT).

RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations, that provides a universal environment for application software. The product is certified by the FSTEC of Russia (№4060 of 12.01.2019), that confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases of the Ministry of Communications of Russia (No.3751).

ABBYY FineReader Engine is a multifunctional software development kit that allows you to embed intelligent recognition technologies into the applications you develop. Using OCR based on artificial intelligence technologies, it is possible to create applications with high-quality information recognition functions from images, photos, screenshots of monitors and displays, including saving into searchable files of office formats. You can also use the ABBYY FineReader Engine to identify document types and compare document versions between one another.

"The way a user experiences an operating system is an important indicator of its effectiveness. The user must have access to all the tools required to do his job. ABBYY products are among the most commonly used, so compatibility with them definitely extends the capabilities of the RED OS", Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, commented.

"When developing and creating new technologies, ABBYY adheres to cross-platform principles. We strive to make the company's solutions for intelligent information processing and business process analysis work equally well on any operating system and devices, helping customers to increase efficiency, solve labor-intensive business tasks and attract new customers. Cooperation with RED SOFT will allow us to provide more document and data processing capabilities to Linux users", Dmitry Shushkin, ABBYY Russia CEO, comments.
