Panasonic Toughbook secure laptops and tablets confirmed compatibility with the Russian operating system RED OS

Panasonic and RED SOFT, a Russian IT developer, announce the successful testing and launch of the Russian operating system RED OS on secure Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 and CF-33 laptops and Toughbook FZ-G1 tablets.

The results of technological cooperation are reflected in the bilateral certificate. The joint solution of Panasonic and RED SOFT is specifically designed for employees who work outside the office. Search and rescue operations, oil and gas production, defense industry, construction, aviation, Russian Railways and other critical information infrastructure facilities require increased hardware and software protection of IT products.

RED OS is a Russian Linux family operating system for servers and workstations, that provides a universal environment for application software. The product is certified by the FSTEC of Russia (№4060 of 12.01.2019), that confirms its compliance with information security requirements and allows its use in government information systems. RED OS is registered in the Unified Register of Russian Software and Databases of the Ministry of Communications of Russia (No.3751).

The Panasonic Toughbook product line is fully compliant with the highest standards of reliability and can be used in almost any, even extreme, environment.

The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-55 rugged 14-inch notebook with its magnesium casing, flexible configuration and versatile compartment is the most pragmatic product ever created. The Toughbook FZ-55 features enhanced durability and a unique "honeycomb" design that enhances durability and moisture resistance.

The fully rugged 12-inch Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 2-in-1 notebook and tablet features two hot-swappable batteries, a detachable keyboard and numerous customizable settings.

The Panasonic Toughbook FZ-G1 tablet is designed for outdoor use, including "in the field". The device has a capacitive screen supporting multi-touch technology (up to 10 points), a stylus and ports with flexible settings. This makes it ideal for viewing high-resolution documentation and images in the field, and its connectivity options give you the advantage of accessing data at any time.

"The main task of RED SOFT, as the developer of the RED OS operating system, is to provide the user with a wide choice of accompanying software and hardware for solving various tasks. Compatibility with Panasonic's Toughbook line of laptops and tablets will allow working in a secure environment in remote mode. We thank Panasonic Russia for their cooperation and trust", Rustam Rustamov, Deputy RED SOFT CEO, says.

"Panasonic is always striving to localize its solutions to fully meet the specifics and requirements of each market where it operates. Therefore, we are very optimistic about our cooperation with RED SOFT and the confirmation of compatibility of the Toughbook and RED OS protected product lines. This step will allow us to create solutions for the highest level clients in Russia, including public sector and related industries that require special standards of information protection and reliability of equipment", - Roman Lobanov, Head of Toughbook Secure Solutions at Panasonic Russia, comments.
