RED SOFT made a report on OS DAY

From 23 to 24 may 2017 the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted the fourth scientific–practical conference OS DAY (http://osday.ru), bringing together developers and customers of domestic operating systems. The purpose of the conference is to determine the tasks and opportunities of Russia in the development of operational platforms, to identify perspective technologies, to share experience, to identify the challenges of the IT industry and the promising directions. On the second day of the conference, Alexei Petrovich Koptev, Deputy General Director of RED SOFT, made a presentation on the use of electronic signature tools for Windows applications in Linux environment (http://osday.ru/koptev.html#speaker). The report examined one of the key problems of the complete migration to Linux kernel based operating systems - the use of electronic signature tools by Windows applications in the Linux environment. The characteristics of the problem, the possible solutions, the RED SOFT experience, the perspective research and development issues in this area were outlined. The report attracted interest of conference participants, and the results of subsequent discussion allow us to assume that the proposed solution - REDWINE - is the only one on the market at the moment. RED SOFT invited the Russian developers of operating systems based on Linux kernel and Windows-oriented applications developers to cooperate in the field of solving the general problem of import substitution - practical and complete replacement of Windows.
